This is not the official airport website (which is at www.aberdeenairport.com), it's an in depth guide to Aberdeen Airport, where everything you need to know is no more than 2 clicks away. Click on any of the links on the left to find the information you need, including Aberdeen Airport Parking and Aberdeen Airport Hotels.
This airport is a gateway to and from the North Sea. Because the city is Europe's largest oil-related centre, the airport houses the world's largest commercial heliport and the majority of the flights through it are helicopter flights to and from the North Sea oil rigs.
It is 7 miles (11 kms) northwest of the centre of Aberdeen, off the A96 road heading towards Inverness. The airport has one terminal, with an arrivals and departures floor. It is wholly owned by BAA, the UK's largest airports operator and had over 3.4m passengers in 2007.
There is ample parking at Aberdeen Airport, with short term and long term parking spaces, plus off parking, which is usually cheaper. There are four airport hotels - the Britannia, Marriott, Holiday Inn and Thistle - all offering an overnight stay plus free parking package.
Once inside the terminal, you will find the facilities you would expect at a small international hub. There is an airport lounge, currency exchange bureaus and a number of ATMs. There is a good range of eating options, excellent disabled facilities and there is duty free shopping.
For those meeting someone at Aberdeen airport it couldn't be simpler. Follow the directions on our 'directions' page and park in the short term airport parking once you reach the airport (this is clearly signposted). Then head for arrivals and check the flight status on the arrivals information boards for when you need to wait by the gate.
