Lufthansa launch Frankfurt flights
01.11.11
Lufthansa has launched new flights between Aberdeen and Frankfurt. The three times a day service, operated using a modern, fuel-efficient 100 seat Embraer E190 aircraft in a two class configuration, offers a direct link to the Germany’s financial centre with timings also scheduled to offer quick and easy onward connections to Lufthansa’s worldwide network.
Aage Duenhaupt, Lufthansa Communications Director Europe, said: ‘We have introduced this new service as a response to business traveller demand. By adding Europe’s oil and energy capital to our network we are strengthening our position in the world’s oil and energy markets, where we serve around 80 destinations in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and the Americas. We are also ensuring that business travellers in the north-east of Scotland are able to take advantage of Lufthansa’s reputation for punctuality and efficiency from their local airport.
'We have timed the service to provide excellent connections to both our European and world-wide network from our Frankfurt hub. Early indications are that three quarters of passengers using the new service are connecting on to our network. In addition to the oil and energy markets the other most popular onward destinations currently include Berlin, Rome, Prague, Munich, Vienna, Warsaw, Beijing, Venice, Paris, Gdansk and Bangkok.'
One way fares from Aberdeen to Frankfurt are from £49 (return £89), inclusive of taxes and charges.
