Army bomb disposal experts were called to Aberdeen Airport yesterday after a suspected Second World War bomb was found, STV reports The device was discovered at the airport at 09:00 during work to extend the runway.
An Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team from Edinburgh was called in and removed the device, which was not live. It dated from the Second World War when the airfield was an RAF base. An airport spokesman said there was no impact on flights or the extension works as the device was found in a remote part of the airfield.
