04.08.08
A bmi flight was delayed for more than 6 hours at Aberdeen Airport yesterday after a female member of the cabin crew was arrested for allegedly having drunk too much.
According to press reports, colleagues of the 24-year-old became concerned after they noticed that she may have drunk too much. Grampian Police were called and they breathalysed the woman, believed to be English. She was then arrested.
Around 140 passengers were due to fly to Faro on the 09:00 flight, but had to wait until bmi had found a replacement crew member before the flight eventually took off just after 15:30. A report is being sent to the procurator fiscal in Aberdeen on the incident.
A bmi spokesman said: ‘We can confirm that a member of the cabin crew was arrested. We are co-operating fully with the police investigation.’
