BAA accounts reveal growth at Aberdeen airport

The latest accounts for BAA's Scottish airports reveal strong growth, with profits of more than £60 million, the Scotsman newspaper reports.
Accounts filed at Companies House this week show a combined pre-tax profit of £60.1 million in the year to March 31. Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow Airports also paid £167 million dividends to their parent company - £40 million from Aberdeen Airport, £66 million from Edinburgh Airport and £61 million from Glasgow Airport.
Aberdeen Airport was the fastest growing of the three Scottish Airports, with an jump in turnover to £34 million, a pre-tax profit of £12.5 million and passenger numbers e growing by almost 10 percent to 2.9 million during the year.
At Edinburgh Airport income grew by around 9 percent to £77.4 million, giving a pre-tax profit of £26.6 million. Passenger numbers reached 8.5 million. And at Scotland's largest airport, Glasgow, turnover was £82.6 million and pre-tax profit of £15.1 million. At Glasow Airport passenger numbers rose 2 percent to 8.8 million.
