Eastern Airways has announced that is will increase its flights between Aberdeen Airport and Stavanger, just two months after launching the route. The current twice daily schedule, which was only launched in August, will be increased to three each weekday from October 22. Then from October 28, the airline will add a new Sunday service.
A spokesman for the airline said that the additional flights between the two strategically important oil-related cities offer business and leisure travellers greater choice of flights between North East Scotland and Stavanger's Sola Airport.
Graeme Ross, Eastern Airways' Director, said: 'Our new flights between Aberdeen and Stavanger have had an excellent start. We are responding to feedback from customers, including those from the energy industry, wanting greater flexibility and more choice with three flights each weekday and a Sunday service.'
'Also, for those travelling from Norway to Scotland, the additional flight enables us to further improve connection times to the onward UK cities we serve from Aberdeen.' [The airline offers onward flights from Aberdeen to Bristol, Durham Tees Valley, East Midlands, Humberside, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Norwich, Southampton, Stornoway and Wick.]
The new flight times from Aberdeen to Stavanger are: Monday - Friday departs 07:00, 12:25 and 17:20 (arrives 09:10, 14:35 and 19:30); Sunday departs 17:20, arrives 19:30. From Stavanger to Aberdeen: Monday - Friday departs 09:40, 16:40 and 19:55 (arrives 09:50, 16:50 and 20:05); Sunday departs 19:55, arrives 20:05 (all times local).
