Community service for drunk air passenger
08.01.12
An oil worker who was drunk and racially abused a cabin crew member on a flight from Heathrow to Aberdeen has been given a community service order, the Evening Express reports.
Paul McArdle spent 40 minutes pressing the call button demanding alcohol after being refused service because the cabin crew felt he was drunk. He also repeatedly made racist remarks to cabin steward Keivin Richardson-Crane, who was on duty on his own on the BMI Airbus plane (so we assume he was in business class).
Mr McArdle, whose address was given at Aberdeen Sheriff Court as West Lodge, Ethie Barns, Arbroath, was ordered to carry out 100 hours of community service.
