Glasgow pips Edinburgh as busiest airport, but Aberdeen is fastes growing

Glasgow kept its title of Scotland's busiest airport when BAA released its October passenger data yesterday, but Edinburgh continues to catch it, whilst Aberdeen Airport was Scotland's fastest growing hub.
The new figures show passenger numbers at Glasgow grew by 0.2% in the 12 months to October to 8.8 million passengers. Last month the airport handled 881,791 passengers - a 1.5% rise on October 2005.
Edinburgh handled 780,889 passengers last month, up 2% on the previous year.
In the year to October, Edinburgh handled 8.6m passengers - again up 2%.
Aberdeen Airport was the fastest growing of BAA's 3 Scottish airports, with passengers up 14% to 299,700 last month. In the year to October, the north-east hub handled 3.1m passengers - up 10.3%.
