Airport forecourt restrictions eased
09.11.07
Vehicle restrictions at Aberdeen Airport put in place after the terror attack on Glasgow Airport in late June have been eased. However, the main forecourt outside the terminal will remain closed.
The move means that secondary forecourt has reopened to passengers. Since June 30 only buses and taxis have been allowed to use the secondary area. However, the main forecourt will remain closed whilst work on the way in which vehicles gain access to the forecourt is completed.
Will Dougherty, Aberdeen Airport's customer services director, said: 'These works will ease congestion in the car park and eliminate Health and Safety concerns. They will also allow us to return the car park operation to its original status.'
'The work will provide a dedicated, safe drop-off area for all airport customers, including passengers, hotel and other courtesy vehicles and taxi operators, whilst enabling future forecourt and car park plans that are due to start in January to carry on.'
