Air Southwest launch Plymouth / Newquay flights
11.03.11
Air Southwest has launched a weekday link from Aberdeen to Devon and Cornwall. The service operates twice a day between Aberdeen and both Plymouth in Devon and Newquay in Cornwall.
Although aimed at business travellers, the new service also puts one of the UK’s most popular holiday destinations within easy reach of travellers from Aberdeen. Devon and Cornwall are renowned for their stunning scenery, breathtaking beaches and world-class attractions including the Eden Project and Tate St Ives, as well as great surfing.
Air Southwest commercial director Mike Coombes said: ‘We expect this new route to be popular with business travellers in the marine and energy sectors who often go from one end of the country to another and need the speed and convenience of air travel, rather than spending over 10 hours on the train. But we also hope it will appeal to anyone considering a break in Devon and Cornwall, which are great places to visit at any time of year.’
Carol Benzie, the Head of Commercial at Aberdeen Airport said: ‘It is exciting to have new destinations to offer passengers. I am confident this route will prove popular with business and leisure passengers. We are also pleased to welcome Air Southwest to Aberdeen Airport’.
