Passengers down 9.4 percent

Aberdeen Airport had just over 3 million passengers in 2009, 9.4 percent down on the year before. In December the airport had 215,100 passengers, also by 9.4 percentage on 2008, as the airport was hit by the weather (fog and snow) and the collapse of FlyGlobespan.
Airport owner BAA's chief executive Colin Matthews said: ‘2009 was a difficult year for airlines. Towards the end of the year we saw some signs of improvements, but there are likely to be more challenging times ahead in 2010.’
