Flyglobespan has announced that it is to scrap another flight from Aberdeen Airport. It has cancelled a weekly flight on one of its two remaining winter routes from the airport, despite saying that it would not do so just 10 days ago.
The Scottish budget airline has been heavily criticised this month for cancelling almost all of its routes from Aberdeen this winter, then announcing a new route to Jersey for next summer as passengers on the cancelled winter flights struggled to rearrange their holidays.
The airline has now announced that it will not operate one of the two weekly winter flights between Aberdeen and Tenerife - only 10 days after saying the route would be unaffected by the announcement that scrapping of 174 winter flights from the Scottish airport.
The latest cancellation sees Flyglobespan's Tuesday flights to Tenerife cancelled this winter, with affected passengers transferred to the nearest Friday flight. Any passengers unhappy with this arrangement needs to contact the airline to arrange a full refund.
A spokeswoman for the airline said: 'Passengers who have booked seats on the Tuesday service between Aberdeen and Tenerife from November 6 to March 25 will be advised by e-mail today that we have found it necessary to withdraw this service as a result of recent operational changes at Aberdeen. Our Saturday service to Malaga is unaffected. We apologise sincerely.'
