New airport shuttle bus to launch
14.12.08
A shuttle bus service between Aberdeen Airport and Dyce Station will be launched this week, the Press & Journal reports. The new Airlink service, which aims to improve transport links to the airport, will launch on Monday.
A bus service has previously operated on the route, but this was withdrawn in 2001. The Airlink service is being launched by regional transport body Nestrans alongside Aberdeen City Council and First Aberdeen. It is tailored to fit in First ScotRail’s new train timetable for the city and Aberdeenshire.
The Airlink will run from 06:45 until 19:38 each day from Monday to Friday, and will travel through the Kirkhill Industrial Estate. It is hoped that residents working in the industrial estate will use the bus service rather than their car.
To encourage use of the new service, fares have been set at £1 for a single journey, £2 for a return and £10 for a weekly ticket.
