Rethink on airport bus
16.07.08
A bus company is to rethink the decision to axe a direct service linking Moray to Aberdeen Airport, and also consider a direct service to Inverness Airport, the Northern Scot newspaper reports.
The change follows a meeting between Moray Councillors and bosses of Stagecoach Bluebird this week, which was also attended by representatives from Aberdeenshire Council, the airport and Highland transport group HITRANS.
There has been concerns raised at timetable changes, which saw a direct number 10 service to Aberdeen Airport stopped. Passengers are currently forced to get off at Blackburn and join a connecting service.
Robert Andrew, Stagecoach regional director, told the newspaper that timetable reliability meant changes were necessary to avoid the Traffic Commissioner taking action against the company. However, at the meeting it was made clear to Stagecoach that direct links to both regional airports were important, and Stagecoach confirmed that it would shortly be reviewing the recent route changes.
