Flyglobespan axe Barcelona flights
16.09.08
Flyglobespan is dropping its route between Aberdeen Airport and the Spanish city of Barcelona, the Press & Journal reports. The last flight will take off on Sunday October 26, at the end of its summer schedule.
The Scottish budget airline has been operating a twice-weekly service on the route since early last year. However, Chief executive Rick Green told the newspaper: ‘Following customer research and analysis of our data from our 2008 flying programme, we believe that the summer 2009 direct flights from Aberdeen to Ibiza and Dalaman in Turkey will be in greater demand than flights to Barcelona. Passengers will still be able to fly to Barcelona with Flyglobespan, from both Glasgow and Edinburgh.’
