BMI plane makes emergency landing

A BMI plane made an emergency landing shortly after taking off from Aberdeen Airport this morning. A full emergency was declared after the pilot reported smelling smoke in the cockpit.
The Embraer 145 was heading to Birmingham and had only just taken off from the airport. The plane landed safely back at Aberdeen Airport at about 08:45, with emergency crews standing by. Engineers are inspecting the plane to identify the problem.
