Ground crew to strike

Baggage handlers and check-in staff at Heathrow and Aberdeen airports will hold a series of 48-hour strikes in a row over pay. The Unite union said staff working for SAS Ground Services will strike for 48 hours starting on 22 December, Boxing Day and 3 January.
A Unite spokesman said the stoppages will affect passengers on Emirates, Turkish and Thai airlines at Heathrow. Passengers flying from Aberdeen with KLM, Air France and Wideroe and Atlantic will also be affected. All of the airlines are expected to put contingency plans in place.
