RAF jet makes emergency landing
18.10.09
A RAF fighter jet experienced a mid-air emergency near Aberdeen yesterday, the Evening Express reports. The Tornado’s pilot issued a mayday call and was forced to make an emergency landing at Aberdeen Airport.
An RAF spokesman told the newspaper: ‘The Tornado was one of a pair on routine flying training when the pilot declared a mayday. It was about 15 miles east of Aberdeen, over the water, when the incident happened. It is not clear what the problem was but the pilot landed safely at Aberdeen Airport.’
