Flybe considering four new routes
19.11.08
Flybe is considering four new routes from Aberdeen Airport. Chief commercial officer Mike Rutter told the Press & Journal newspaper that the regional budget airline was looking at three possible new domestic services and an international route.
He would not name the destinations, but the newspaper suggests that the three domestic routes are Cardiff, Norwich and Manchester. Internationally, Flybe is believed to be looking at a Norwegian service, either to Stavanger or Bergen. All are oil and gas destinations, and so would seem to make sense.
Mr Rutter, was at the airport to celebrate Flybe’s first Aberdeen flight crewed entirely by staff based in the City. He told the newspaper that the current economic environment meant the airline would take a cautious approach to future expansion.
