Plans for second phase of business park announced

Plans for a £30 million extension to a business park adjoining Aberdeen's airport have been announced, before it has even opened. The first phase of the 54-acre ABZ Business Park, which is to the south of the airport, is still under development. It is expected to create up to 2000 jobs once complete. Now its owners Ribnort have announced plans for the second phase of development, expected to cost another £30 million to build.
The company wants to extend the business park onto a further 20-acres south of Wellheads Drive, immediately opposite the exiting site. George Stevenson, Ribnort director, said: ‘Following the strong reception for phase one of ABZ, securing early outline planning permission for this adjacent site, which we own, is the natural next step.'
The new section of the business park would hold workshops, warehouses and open-storage facilities. A pre-planning application notice has been lodged with Aberdeen City Council and the company plans to launch a community consultation over the plans.
