Eastern Airways celebrates 10 years for Wick flights

Eastern Airways is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its flights between Aberdeen Airport and Wick. They were launched in 2001 with two daily weekday rotations operated by an Aberdeen based aircraft, providing an important link for energy companies and businesses in the North-east and the North Highlands.
They flights increased to three each weekday in 2004, and Eastern Airways re-based the aircraft operating the route in Wick in February 2005, offering improved timings and better onward connections from Aberdeen Airport. In February 2007, the route gained an extra 1320 seats per month when the larger 29 seater Jetstream 41 aircraft was deployed on the service.
Since 2001 the airline has operated over 11,500 flights between Wick and Aberdeen. The three flights daily weekday service is used by business and leisure travellers and has helped forge business links between oil and gas, renewable energy companies and other key businesses in Aberdeen and Caithness.
