Airport operator BAA has announced that Derek Provan will take the role of managing director at Aberdeen Airport from next month. Mr Provan joined BAA as a firefighter in 1998, and worked in a number of roles at Glasgow Airport including airfield operations manager, head of security and terminal operations and, most recently, customer services director.
He is currently at Stansted Airport as interim operations director. He said: ‘I am delighted to be appointed to this new role, taking my place within a strong team and strong business. I look forward to building on the work that has already been undertaken providing great service to our passengers and airline partners.'
Aberdeen’s former managing director Kevin Brown left at the end of July to take up the top post at Edinburgh Airport.
