Aviation officials are probing a near miss between two passenger planes 6,000ft above Aberdeen, the Press & Journal reports. An Aircraft Proximity report — known as an airprox — has been filed after a Boeing 737 and a Jetstream 41 got too close above the city on August 12. Both aircraft were en route to Aberdeen Airport and getting air traffic control instructions for the city’s airport when the incident happened at 17:00.
Eastern Airways confirmed to the newspaper that the Jetstream 41 plane involved i belonged to them and was a chartered flight. An Aircraft Proximity report is now being considered by the UK Airprox Board, which investigates all near-miss incidents involving aircraft in British airspace.
