Aberdeen is fastest growing UK airport

Passengers increased at Aberdeen Airport faster than any other major UK airport over the last year, according to figures released by the CAA. They grew by 9.5% between 1 January and 30 November 2011, compared with the same period in 2010.
Aberdeen was followed by Edinburgh Airport, with growth of 6.5%, while Manchester grew by 6%. Heathrow saw 3.7% growth, Scatsta Airport in Shetland, which mainly serves the offshore industry, experienced 3.6% growth, as did London City, and Glasgow and Liverpool airports both grew by 3.2%.
Only airports which handle over 100,000 passengers a year were included in the list.
