Fears raised over BA Heathrow route
23.02.08
A business group has hit out at the recent disruption and delays to British Airway's Aberdeen Airport to Heathrow flights, raising fears that the vital route could be cut back or scrapped. Ken McEwen, chairman of the Institute of Directors in Aberdeen, said: 'BA's Aberdeen - Heathrow service is not getting the priority and attention it deserves.'
The group has raised concerns that BA is 'softening up' travellers before axing or cutting back the service, which currently offers seven return journeys a day. The airline has already announced that it is scrapping its Gatwick service from Aberdeen next month.
However, BA denied there was any threat to the route and blamed the weather for the recent flights problems.
