Bus firm U-turn over airport bus service
25.08.08
Complaints from Moray residents over cuts to a bus service to Aberdeen Airport have prompted a bus company to reconsider its decision, the Press & Journal reports.
Commuters complained after Stagecoach Bluebird dropped the airport from most of its daytime off-peak journeys on its number 10 service at the end of May. The company replaced the direct service with a number 224 bus, which saw passengers returning from the airport back to Moray, Nairn and Inverness having to change buses at Blackburn in Aberdeenshire.
Following a review of the service, bus company Stagecoach has made changes to provide a guaranteed connection at Blackburn on the Monday to Friday 06:00 service from Inverness/ Elgin. In addition, Bluebird will offer a direct service to the airport on the 06:00 Saturday service from Inverness / Elgin, and a direct service from the airport on the Monday to Saturday 13:00 service from Aberdeen bus station to Elgin / Inverness.
