A full emergency was called at Aberdeen Airport yesterday morning when an Eastern Airways plane’s windscreen cracked in mid-air, the Evening Express reports. Police, fire and ambulance crews were scrambled to the airport as the plane headed back to the airport shortly after takeoff.
The drama began about 10 minutes after the Saab 2000 left the airport, when its windscreen cracked in mid-flight. The 38 passengers onboard were transferred to another aircraft and took off at 09:50, arriving in Scatsta in Shetland at 10:50, the newspaper reports.
